LOCUM Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant Hartford, Connecticut Cardiothoracic Surgery Inpatient Coverage 6 12 Month Assignment

365 Healthcare is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant for a Cardiothoracic Surgery locum tenens opportunity in Hartford, Connecticut. This inpatient assignment offers a long-term contract with a high-acuity cardiothoracic surgery team across two major hospital campuses.

Coverage is needed beginning in July with a projected assignment length of 6 12 months.

Schedule

• Monday Friday
• 8-hour day shifts
• Potential night call coverage
• Potential 24-hour call shifts
• Weekend coverage as part of the schedule
• Long-term assignment (6 12 months)

Practice Overview

• Inpatient cardiothoracic surgery service
• Coverage at two hospital campuses
• Level I Trauma Center environment
• Average daily patient census: 10
• EMR: Epic
• Collaborative cardiothoracic surgery team
• Adult and geriatric patient population

Clinical Responsibilities

• Inpatient rounding and patient management
• Pre-operative evaluations and physical examinations
• Post-operative patient care
• Coordination of multidisciplinary care
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies
• Assisting in cardiothoracic surgical procedures
• Suture and staple removal
• Prescription management
• Diagnosis and treatment planning
• Procedural support and bedside interventions

Required Procedures

Providers should be comfortable performing:

• Central venous catheter placement
• Dialysis catheter placement
• Arterial line placement
• Endoscopic vessel harvesting
• Intra-arterial monitoring procedures
• Post-operative cardiothoracic patient management

Practice Environment

• High-acuity cardiothoracic surgery program
• Independent practice with physician support available
• Teaching hospital environment
• Advanced surgical and critical care resources
• Established multidisciplinary care team

Qualifications

• NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant
• Active Connecticut License
• ACLS Certification
• BLS Certification
• Minimum one year of experience
• Cardiothoracic surgery experience preferred
• Ability to perform all required procedures and duties
• Epic experience preferred
• Must be able to work at both assigned hospital locations
• Local provider required
