Overview:
Seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Stepdown (PCU) assignment. The ideal candidate is a flexible, safety-focused clinician able to function across PCU/Telemetry and Med-Surg areas and provide high-quality patient education and documentation.

Requirements:

• Active Washington RN license
• Minimum 3 years clinical experience in Med-Surg/PCU
• Willingness to flex to other departments as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patient and family education needs and deliver appropriate teaching using varied modalities
• Promote patient safety through prevention strategies (e.g., side rails, restraints) and follow restraint policies with proper evaluation and documentation
• Safely operate PCU/Telemetry/Med-Surg equipment; utilize troubleshooting procedures and equipment manuals as needed
• Implement and document infection control and isolation precautions; use standard precautions at all times
• Maintain accurate, concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, responses, and charge entries
• Review, complete and clarify physician orders promptly; perform 24-hour order checks when applicable
• Provide thorough change-of-shift report and communicate effectively with other departments
• Report critical lab values to physicians per policy
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, patient rooms, and general supplies
• Perform other duties as assigned
